Miss Seymour safe in Amsterdam

Good morning SFCC from Amsterdam in the Netherlands!

I finally arrived in Amsterdam (after a one and a half hour wait in customs) at 4:30pm on Thursday (Dutch time). Year 6 ... because we have been doing time... who can tell me how long I travelled for if I left my house at 3:30pm on Wednesday afternoon (Sydney time)?

One of the Umpire Managers who will look after us when we are in Brussels lives in the Netherlands and she picked me up from the airport. She lives in a lovely town (which they call a 'village') just outside of Amsterdam. I had a much needed shower at her place and she took me for a drive through the countryside. Absolutely beautiful! It was a stunning day and I enjoyed driving around in her mini Cooper with the roof down :)

I had a lovely home cooked meal last night and was into bed early.

This morning I am off to explore Amsterdam city before umpiring my first test match tonight between Australia and the Netherlands.

I hope you all had a lovely week at school and I will write again soon.

The long line I had to wait in to get through customs at Amsterdam airport

Renee and Fiona's lovely place - I am staying here for a couple of nights before the tournament starts. It looks small from the front but it's actually 3 levels. My room is up the top in the loft. There is a downstairs also which you can't see from the front that backs onto a little river. I'll try and take a photo from the back to show you.

Some of the views from the drive
There's so much water in the Netherlands - this is one of their big lakes! Everything is very green.

    1. It was more like 36 hours!!

Don't forget that to judge duration of time, you will need to convert the Dutch time into Sydney time.

When I arrived at 4:30pm on the Thursday in Holland ... it was really 12:30am Friday morning in Sydney ... so 3:30pm Wednesday afternoon all the way until 12:30am Friday morning, I was travelling :O

Nearly time to head home...

Hello SFCC, I am on my final rest day here in Brussels. The weather hasn't been very nice so we just decided to go shopping and relax ...
